A Workshop in Authentic Communication
Leading meetings and making effective presentations starts with a clear sense of self. Facilitation Skills digs deep to help you explore and eventually break through the barriers that may be preventing you from feeling comfortable and confident in front of people. Through discussion, role playing and practice, the class leads you to refine your own communication style. Most importantly, you will learn to view yourself differently; the class teaches you how to highlight your strengths while mitigating your weaknesses.
"Constellation Learning is onto something special here. Too many facilitation courses are based on teaching participants some “ideal” model. Constellation Learning’s approach – finding the authentic or genuine style in you and facilitating within your abilities and perspectives – is the most natural, logical and common-sense method that I have ever come across." Tony Marzotto, Facilitator for the Ministry of Transportation, Toronto
More than improving your presentation skills—how you look, what you wear, what you say—this workshop goes deeper. You'll examine why you do what you do and discover techniques to curtail your unconscious behaviours.
Facilitation Skills Development will teach you how to:
- Communicate more clearly by instantly identifying the receiver's personality style
- Make your strengths and weaknesses work for you
- Dismantle the personal defense mechanisms that get in the way of your message Disarm potentially difficult participants, clients, or situations
"The one on one aspect was extremely beneficial to me. I have been to similar workshops and they did not accomplish what this class did." Jim Hill, Bank of America
This program assists people to:
- Become more effective speakers, facilitators or trainers
- Lead meetings more effectively
- Increase ability to spark change in others
- Improve communication and trust-building skills
- Build self confidence
“I appreciate the personal level this class goes to. Going this route allowed for participants to be more involved and for me, to become more self-aware.”Nicole Bell, The Dominion of Canada
Rather than simply lecturing and demonstrating, this class is highly experiential in nature. Group size is limited to a maximum of eight participants to allow for detailed, individual attention and plenty of practice time for all. Students will be videotaped as they practice and provided with a video summary of their presentations.
Facilitation Skills Development is designed to help facilitators and managers develop tools with which to conduct meetings and other facilitated sessions more easily and effectively. It is designed to help improve your willingness and ability to connect with an audience, as well as recognize different styles of communication. It teaches the skills and strategies needed to establish rapport, build mutual trust and draw out meaningful interaction.
